Personalities

Inspired by Melissa's finding on her horse Grace's personality I wanted to find out what the site would say about Milo's personality. This is what the result was:

The Goddess is loved by most of the other horses and most people. They are expressive and sensitive and emotional. You will know how they feel. They try very hard to please and will worry and be anxious if you are not happy with them. In the negative they can have scattered energy that is hard to get focused. This personality can be loved on as much as you want.

I think this result hit Milo's personality right on the nose. Milo has loved almost every horse he has come to contact in and vice versa (except for one hormonal mare). Same goes for people-everyone loves him and he loves everyone else (cookes?!). Milo is extremely expressive, I always know exactly what he is thinking about. He tries 100% to keep me happy and is upset with himself if he does something wrong, and will try hard for you too (if you win his heart over first). And yes, focus is the #1 problem for us. He just gets so excited about things he seems to forget about basic things. I think its also a trait of a more childlike (foal-like?) horse. Easily distracted. And finally, yes, Milo love love LOVES to be loved on. This was a great expression of the type of personality Milo is.

All of these qualities are exactly why I love Milo so much. I have never had a horse (or even dealt with one) before that has so much expression and is always so happy with life. Ive ridden horses that try hard for me before, but nothing compared to the lengths that Milo will go to. But I also dont think I have ever had as strong a relationship with a horse before.

Want to know what presonality your mount has? Go to this link here to find out, and let me know if the results were as acurrate as Milo's!

Update: Melissa sent me this, its the dos and donts for Goddess personalities (thanks Melissa!)
Do
Listen to them - check
Play with them - check check check Milo has a big huge purple ball, remember?
Ask for what you want - no demanding with Milo, he gets a little pissy
Allow them friendships - absolutely!!!
Be their friend and leader - Im not tooting my own horn, but seriously, Milo is always concerned about where I am and is literally always happy to see me. Gives me sweet little nickers at the gate :)
Give them variety - Yep. This is why we dont do WP
Own them forever - FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER. Plan to absolutely.

Don’t
Be rigid, bossy, boring - If I get bossy Milo shuts down, and if I get tense Milo gets reallllly tense.
Move them frequently - stresses them out (see last dont)
Keep them alone - Milo isnt a needy horse, as in he doesnt get attached too bad except to mares, he loves being out with geldings who will play with him.
Stress them - ok!

This information is so awesome in that it is consistently spot on. I may just have to buy that book now.

"The Goddess!" I love it! The description is pretty right on! Everytime I seem Milo in a group of people or horses, they are always loving on him.Grace even likes him, just as long as he doesn't touch her first.

I've got a People Pleaser (Maisie) and a Wild Card (Dawn) - the book that goes with the on-line test has some other interesting observations and some good tips for working with the different types of horses - I found most of it to be pretty nuanced and accurate - not some of the other personality groupings that I think put horses in too few categories.

I took this test and my mare was described as a People Pleaser. Wow, is that accurate! The test was a lot of fun and it was neat to get a result that actually fit my horse's personality. I agree with Kate that some of the other tests don't contain enough categories.

I'm thinking about buying the book!
